My name is Heather and I am located in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. I am a breeder of top quality purebred AKC Yorkshire Terriers.

About HD Yorkie Bears

As a Yorkshire Terrier breeder my goal is to breed top quality AKC Yorkie puppies. My Yorkies are carefully chosen for their quality in appearance, disposition, genetics, bloodlines and health. I take my breeding responsibility seriously and do everything I can to ensure I am producing the best quality standard of the breed as possible.

A puppy from HD Yorkie Bears will be of high quality genetics, healthy, and happy; a win-win situation for you, me, and the Yorkshire Terrier Breed!

My puppies are raised in a loving, nurturing environment with lots of affection, individual attention and plenty of play-time. I have a responsibility to each and every puppy to ensure they are happy, healthy and well adjusted. I choose to keep my puppies for 8-12 weeks instead of the standard 6 weeks because I have experienced first hand how much those few extra weeks of socialization with litter mates and their mother greatly benefits each individual puppy.

 All puppies have their tails docked and dew claws removed, are paper-trained starting at 4 weeks and have their first two rounds of puppy shots (including parvo, distemper, parainfluenza etc.) and are at least 8 weeks of age before leaving my care. They go home with AKC registration papers, a contract and medical records. I also provide a Purina puppy kit including starter food and informative articles.

 I have a responsibility to each and every puppy to ensure they are happy, healthy and well adjusted. I also have the responsibility to ensure that they are placed in loving homes that share the same dedication as HD Yorkie Bears.

A  little about me and why I breed Yorkies:
My passion for Yorkies began 8 years ago after I purchased my first Yorkie; Rocky. I developed allergies and needed a hypo-allergenic dog. I absolutely fell in love with the breed and decided to add another Yorkie to my family to possibly breed in the future. I began looking for a quality Yorkie companion for Rocky but had a difficult time finding one.  I found a lot of un-reputable breeders with sad, sick, unvaccinated poor quality puppies in dirty cages that had probably never even been held. I rescued my second Yorkie; Macy from one of these breeders and the poor girl was 2 years old and knew nothing other than life in a cage. She had no sense of gravity (she would walk right off a couch or your arms) and when excited she would spin in circles (the only way she could move around in her cage). This broke my heart. Its amazing what you can find when you answer a classified ad- so many people out there are breeding for money with no regard to quality or especially the happiness of their dogs. And it does make a difference in the puppy you adopt, and you have every right to be concerned about what environment your puppy is coming from and how the puppies’ parents are treated. What I found out there was a major eye opener and from that point on I have strived to learn everything I can about breeding, genetics, and the Yorkshire Terrier breed. It has been a long journey with many obstacles but I now have a high quality breeding program with 5 outstanding females and 2 handsome males. I am very proud of my Yorkies and their offspring and am happy to share them with good people looking to love a healthy and happy Yorkie puppy.  At HD Yorkie Bears quality is priceless, I spare no expense when it comes to my Yorkies and their care.

  This is Hope. We adopted her from Hdyorkiebears. She is a wonderful family pet. Heather gave Hope lots of love and attention before she allowed us to bring her into our family. You can tell that she truly cares about each puppy that is born in her home and she makes them a part of her family before giving them to your family. We love Hope very much and she is now Queen of the house. I would reccommend HDYorkiesbears to anyone looking for a Yorkie.
